Summary: retired World War II veteran and farmer who had reportedly been hospitalized in extremely critical condition from massive internal injuries, including several broken bones, suffered in the April 17 West Fertilizer Company industrial explosion that had severely damaged or destroyed more than 150 nearby buildings and killed at least 15 people including 10 volunteer firefighter as a result from a 10-foot-deep, 96-foot-wide crater across the small farming community while emergency services personnel were responding to a fire at the facility when the blast occurred, in which the cause of the fertilizer plant explosion remained under investigation by the Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms federal agency.
